2024 Repertoire
This year's festival explores the drama of ritual.
While "program music" is a concept often associated with the Romantic era, its hallmarks of narrative and aural-visual imagery were trailblazed in the 18th century by oratorios (biblical narratives set to semi-dramatized performances) and the nascent genre of symphony.
On Sunday, October 27, 10:30 A.M., the festival choir and orchestra will adorn the liturgy honoring the Feast of the Kingship of Jesus Christ with proto-dramatic sacred works by Haydn, Mondonville, and Handel.
